See doctor.: Could be a couple of things: 1. The finger is healing properly, but it became stiff from immobilization, talk with your doctor about range of motion exercises.  2.The swelling is due to infection (but usually also have pain).  3. The laceration on the finger involved a tendon, which is a more serious injury.  Bottom line, see your doctor about this.

Unsure of injurty: I am not sure what a capsule is but if you have any swelling around a joint for that long that does not get better it needs to be seen by a doctor as it might be a broken bone- especially if it happened after an injury

Deep cut on L index: How did you get the cut ? was a clean or with a dirty instrument? You mention it took place &gt; 1 month ago 
Did you had, a tetanus vaccination? is up to the bone medial or lateral ? did you take antibiotics.
Is the area red, ans swollen?
Numbness is the result sensory nerve injury, transection, or affected by infection. See the Dr, who did the suturing, nerve conduction may be required.

Specialist: If you are not seeing a orthopedic hand specialist, I would do that.  A detailed exam and appropriate studies will likely determine the cause.  It is just that am MRI of a swollen finger is not usually real helpful as it can be nonspecific.  So, unless it was ordered by a hand specialist, I would probably start there.

Usually normal...: Depending on the mechanism of injury (or how you hurt it), the findings may be normal. For example, jamming your finger while catching a football or basketball can cause injury to the ligamentous structures around the joints causing swelling, stiffness and pain. Symptoms should usually resolve within 6-8 weeks. If symptoms persist with minimal resolution, seek help from your primary doc.

Did : Did you get an mri?  I think an MRI would be helpful to see if there is any sort of mechanical block to your extension such as a loose body (a piece of cartilage that is stuck in the joint).   If your last three fingers are getting numb, this may be sign of an ulnar nerve compression.

Possible Infection: A finger that is swollen and numb should be urgently evaluated in-person by a clinician for evidence of infection. An infected finger would typically present as warm and swollen, and because of increased pressure from the swelling, possibly have less sensation. Suggest removing any rings on the affected finger and an in-person clinical evaluation at your earliest convenience.

Synovitis?  : Sounds like you have already seen someone about your joints.  I hope they have done an evaluation for inflammatory arthritis and have a working diagnosis.  Prognosis of synovitis in general is very good.  It usually responds to time and medication.  But you must know what is causing it before blindly pulling out the drugs.
