Which STD?: Doxycycline (Doxylin and many other brands) treats some STDs but not all; it depends on which infection you have. Usually 7 days for chlamydia, nongonococcal urethritis (NGU) in men, and partners of people with these STDs. 2-4 weels for syphilis. 10-14 days for pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) when the exact cause is not known. Not reliable in any dose for gonorrhea. No effect on HPV or herpes.

Probably not: Male genital odor is not a sign of STD, but perhaps of genital hygiene -- frequency of washing etc. But the context of your question suggests he is a new partner or perhaps someone you don't know well. So STD testing might make sense, just to be safe, especially if you also had vaginal or anal sex.

Genital hygiene: Are you circumcised or un-circumcised? Wash your penis with soap every day while in shower. if you are un-circumcised, You will need to pull your foreskin back and the wash your penis with soap. I will also recommend use of fresh underwear every day.  
It will be helpful to keep wet wipes with you an use it as needed to clean the area of sweat in between the showers.

No: No, an IUD is implanted to help try to prevent pregnancy.  It has nothing to do with trying to prevent std infections.  It has absolutely no effect on risks of getting an std. Also, having an IUD inserted may actually increase the risk of obtaining an std, particularly within a few weeks of impantation. Overall, women at high risk for STDs are to be cautioned about the risks of iuds and stds.

What type/treatment?: Infections can lead to sterility.  This is especially true of certain types of infections that cause pelvic inflammatory disease (PID).  Most commonly caused by chlamydia or gonorrhea.  Not all persons infected by these have trouble getting pregnant but if untreated can be a problem.  Do you know what infection you had and was it treated?

you should not worry too much, but if you get dischrge from your penis or any sores on the penis and urinary burning than see your doctor.
