i started my pill pack one day late. took two pill the next day. had unprotected sex on third day. took morning after pill just to be safe. is it ok?

Maybe (not) . . .: Ok from what? Sexually transmitted disease? No. Pregnancy? Probably. But it's better to take birth control pills as directed rather than depend upon morning after pills. So if it's difficult to take pills regularly, ask your family doctor for other options eg shots, patches, etc.

Hmmm....: There are thousands of pills that come in packages. We'll guess that this is about a woman's daily, combination Birth Control pills. If taken within 3 hours of the usual time that she takes her pill each day, she should not notice a difference in the pills' effectiveness. Likewise if she missed only the first day and doubled up the second day. Pregnancy is possible but rare while taking BC pills.

3 pills late in the first week, i took the ec after the second time late. how should i continue the next pack?

See link: You can start the regular birth control right away or wait for your next period and re initiate as "Sunday start".  If your period is late or abnormal do a home pregnancy test. i took my last active pill in my pack 4 hours late because i was at work. i usually take them all at 5 and took this one at 9. am i protected still?

Late taking pill ?'s: The only negative effect in taking the pill late by a day or so is occasionally this will cause breakthrough bleeding from the gap in taking them.  This does not affect the contraceptive effectiveness, however.  If bleeding starts, just stop the bcp's, wait five days, then start a new pack.  Take them as close to the hour in the one taken the  previous day.

Consistency is best: Most oral contraceptive are so low in hormone that if taken irratically can result in ovulation and pregnancy, so taking them at a similar time each day is always best. Doubling up after being 3 hours late may be unnecessary, but unlikely to be harmful.

Likely your ok: It sounds like your pretty consistent with your BC and the 9hr late one time is ok.  Just don't keep doing it.  But I would advise you use condoms as well for protection from Sexually transmitted disease.  BC does not protect you.  Pulling out method is not BC at all.  If you want a better form of BC, I would advise the implantable Nexplanon or an IUD.

Birth control: I recommend using an additional form of birth control for one month.  If you are have trouble remembering to take the pill daily, consider other birth control options such as Depo Provera (medroxyprogesterone) or Implanon.

No: No start taking a pill a day since you are sexually active we do not have to worry about pregnancy.. It take a cycle to regulate your your hormone again. If you start having spotting or bleeding check with your PCP
