Not "great": but a LOT BETTER than it was just 5 years ago! NEW medications which relieve the "load" on the heart and increase its STRENGTH are now commonly prescribed!
A regimen , worked out by a BOARD CERTIFIED Cardiologist is the way to go...good luck..hope this helps

Good question: Diseases staging by the doctors are based on certain diagnostic points. These stages might not exactly co-relate with the severity of active symptoms the patients might encounter. Acuity of symptoms makes patients sicker. For example a person with stage 2 heart failure can be sicker when he/she has exacerbation, than who has stable stage 4 disease. Stage 4 does not always mean terminal.

Depends on heart: It depend on general health and associated health conditions especially heart disease. Heart failure by itself doesn't prevent someone from getting kidney transplant. I guess she was evaluated in a transplant center and being followed by a cardiologist.

Concentrate on quality of life rather than longevity.
