ST abnormality: ST segment abnormalities in a 12 lead EKG are nonspecific and could be caused by prior myocardial injury or fibrosis from old viral infection causing myocarditis. One would need to see associated pathological Q waves in your inferior leads in order to definitively diagnose old damage from coronary artery blockage. A cardiologist is best to consult to determine the significance of your EKG abnormal

Common reading: "abnormal" because there are non-specific changes which are not  specific enough to meet a true diagnosis, but not normal enough to  say normal, so somewhat of a soft call or indecisive read, but very common and does not necessarily mean anything.  The bottom line, the ECG findings need to be placed in the clinical context in which it was taken, and compared to previous and subsequent ECGs.

Abnormal EKG: I would discuss findings with your PCP or Cardiologist. Also, mention any symptoms that you are having either at rest or with exertion. Symptoms include, (but not limited to) shortness of breath, smothering sensation when you lie flat, palpitaions, dizziness or feeling faint, chest pain, fatigue.  This could represent a normal variant given your age. Sometimes the machine analysis is over/zealous.

: Non-specific is technical wording for: it cannot be interpreted but doesn't fit the usual pattern. Please discuss this with the doc who ordered it for their interpretation specific to your case.

ECG result.: “Sinus tachycardia” means that your heart rate is too fast while your heart rhythm is normal (sinus).  “Non-specific ST abnormality” means he ST segment of the ECG complex is not completely normal but is also not indicative of a specific disease state.  Depending on what medical decision-making led to the ECG completion, more testing may be in order.

This report is normal except for the 'nonspecific....', it doesn't mean anything bad. Ask your dr. For his/her view.

: "Inferior ischemia with S-T segment abnormality" represents lack of oxygen getting to the heart muscle. With "chest pains and sinus tachycardia" in the setting of anemia, this kind of EKG report may occur, as demand outpaces the (transient) ability of the heart muscle to operate without an oxygen deficit, producing an abnormal EKG.
