Infections &amp;  hormonal changes can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then do  a home pregnancy test .  There are many options available to help regulate the menstrual cycle. Schedule a visit.

Needs testing: Irregular periods are one of the most common problems Obgyns treat. If this is a one time problem it usually resolves on its own. If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Infections, polyps and   hormonal changes can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then do  a home pregnancy test.   Vaginal odor may signal an infection.

Unpredictable: The bleeding patterns with depoprovera are unpredictable. For some in takes the period away. For others it causes irregular bleeding. There is no "normal" for Depo-Provera users. The longer you are on it the higher the chance of no periods.  Spotting is usually  old blood coming out.

See an OB/GYN: Spotting is not usually necessarily a symptom of severe underlying illness, and regulation of your menses after bcps may take several months.  Be patient and if this does not clear up or becomes worse or is associated with other symptoms, see your ob/gyn.

Metformin may be very effective at normalizing menses and even restoring fertility in many. Other drugs are available if you testosterone level is high, or to induce fertility if desired. Check w/your doctor.

blighted ovum. i had miscarriage 4weeks ago. my transv result still there is 2cm blood. but i have spotting for two weeks is that normal? and when i will get my period?

: The next step is an Obgyn evaluation. The doctor will need to determine if the miscarriage is complete or if you still have tissue remaining inside of the uterus. If tissue is still inside, the doctor may consider giving you medication or performing a minor surgery called a D and C.
