Maybe. Maybe not.: It can be hard to tell if a woman is pregnant because some of the symptoms seen in early pregnancy can also happen in non-pregnant women. A urine pregnancy test gives a reliable result if done correctly. One can test about 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have occurred), 1 week after missing a period, or after having a "weird" period.

Not likely: Take a test. But if this has been happening for 6 months and you were pregnant, you would be showing, feel baby moving, etc. What you are describing sounds more like spotting with ovulation each month. See doctor for further evaluation.

Depends: Best to check on pregnancy test on first morning urine. If negative, repeat in 7 to 10 days. If both negative, unlikely you are pregnant and not related to implantation bleeding. Implantation bleeding is very very scant and almost never noted. Hope this helps. Best of luck trying to conceive.

Premenstrual spots: This pattern of bleeding does not indicate anything serious usually. You will need an exam to be sure. You might be bleeding from a superficial vessel on the cervix or you may have polyp in the uterus. Sometimes the doctor will find nothing and might have you take one or two cycles of oral contraceptives to see if this bleeding will clear. Best to get checked.

An Ob-Gyn doctor can evaluate any persistent or worrisome symptoms.

Hormone effect : It's likely due to the changes in your hormones with stopping. If you have been having regular cycles, you are probably ovulating by now. If you haven't already, you need to decide if you need or want birth control.

Meh...: Probably not, usually PID is an acute and progressive presentation, rather than something that happens for a day intermittently for 5 months.  A day of cramping and spotting mid cycle could be the " mittelschmertz" which is the pain and spotting that can be felt when you ovulate.   Be sure and use condoms to protect yourself from STD's! This may not be one, but next time!?

Breakthrough: This is breakthrough bleeding and at 46 years of age it can be normal.  One episode is likely due to hormonal shifts, but should it continue you should see a gynecologist to make sure that there are no uterine abnormalities or precancer risks.  As we age, there can be greater swings in hormones and irregular bleeding patterns are common.  If happens multiple times, see your doctor.

Accepted Answer

: Not necessarily normal but not unusual.  If it persists would recommend seeing your Gyn or PCP for a pelvic exam to be sure there is not something unusual going on.
