: It is hard to understand such a fetish or practice since the trigger can differ from person to person. Nutritionally it has near the same effect as eating spoons full of sugar. The trigger for an individual can often be found working with a life-coach/therapist since it can represent a stress response. Learning how to manage stress in an alternate way may resolve the pattern.

Spoon feeding: By six months you should be adding baby food/cereal by spoon. Your baby is still going to get most of their calories from milk but as you are able to feed more items, you'll be able to decrease how much milk they need. By their first year, your baby should be off the bottle entirely. Drinking from a regular or "zippy cup" and it should not be their main source for nutrition.

Brownie Mix: It's probably not the best thing for you, but i can't think off the top of my head of anything that would cause any significant problems -- unless you are allergic to one of the ingredients. In general you would want to avoid excess sweets, raw eggs, artificial ingredients, etc... Other snacks like fresh fruit are probably a better choice --hope this helps! :).

Go back to bottle: Baby might be getting sick and dehydration is very dangerous at this age.  When sick, we all like to be comforted.  Give him/her whatever you can get in by using something comforting, like a nipple.  Water down favorite foods and feed that way.  If few diapers and getting sleepy or less playful, or if a fever (take temperature; don't guess!) see a clinic.

Sharing food &amp; germs: Sharing utensils means sharing saliva... and saliva carries many germs. If your friend was ill or became ill, you should be checked for that illness. However, if your friend was healthy, just be aware of changes in your body such as fever, diarrhea, sore throat or other problems and get checked out by your doctor if they occur. There is probably no reason for testing otherwise.
