is there a way to speed up healing for a bruise?

There is not: Bruises are blood that has alread escaped into the area and the only way they get better is by being reabsorbed by the body. I am sorry there are no tricks to it. Nothing particular: There is no known way to improve on the body's healing abilities, other than a proper diet and adequate vitamins, and avoiding things that may impair healing, including cigarette smoking and alcohol.

how long does it usually take for a bruise to heal? what can i do to avoid aggravating it and speed healing beyond the initial put-ice-on-it period?

Not Too Complicated: If you were mugged by five large thugs in an alley in South Central, it could take weeks. If you bumped your forearm on the door knob to a dressing room in Macy's, maybe a week. So, if it's sore, decrease use to that area 'till it feels better. If it's swollen, elevate it if you can. Tylenol (acetaminophen). And time. Not too complicated unless it gets worse for some reason, then get it looked at.

DOG BITE: In any case of a dog bite the wound needs to be evaluated for the infection risk stratification, some wounds need prophylactic antibiotics. Remember to wash the area, avoid using any home remedy  Indirect heat in the area maybe heals a little faster the hematoma.

Wait it out: There's no real way to speed recovery from a black eye. Like any other bruise, it's simply blood within the skin layers that needs to resolve. Just takes time. You can decrease the swelling with cold compresses, though.

i had a v-beam laser treatment on a spider angiome on my face.  is there anything i can do to speed recovery of the bruising/healing of dark veins?

Not really.: The bruising will go away with time; there is no credible evidence that anything currently available will speed that process. I must add, however, that using a v-beam laser to treat a spider angioma is the equivalent of using a howitzer to swat a fly; a momentary touch with an electrocautery needle would have accomplished the same thing with little or no bruising.

You'll need an X-ray: Given that you still have pain you need to have  an X-ray

Ice it: for the next6 24 hours .,..then apply heat!
A bruise is a "collection" of burst and "old" red blood cells. By using ice at the beginning you decrease circulation (thus the bleeding is less) afterwards HEAT will promote the circulation to remove the blood products.
