No: This is a vicious, cynical scam. The plant (seeds are worst) is actually a neurotoxin. It is poisonous to some cancer cells in culture which is no surprise (just about anything can have an effect on stuff growing in a petri dish). There's not even an animal model, and anyone who offers a human testimonial is lying -- it would have been published and a scientist's reputation made.

Maybe but Not alone: There are many supplements and traditional remedies advised to help treat or even cure cancer. Very very few have been studied to prove an actual benefit. And every type of cancer is literally a "different animal."  while i often allow my patients to add an herbal supplement as a trial in addition to prescription therapy, i don't ever advise them to expect a cure from them when used alone.

Need more studies: There are some facts that annona muricata ( soursop) perhaps contains an active substance/molecules that  can kill certain cancer cells. Some study has demonstated some positive data in vitro -in the laboratories. However there are a lot of questions that have to be asnwered first before declaring that it can really treat cancer.

Yes if you like it: Guanabana grows in south asia , south ameica  , also called jamaican soursop , rich  in vit c b 1 ;2 , has unproven claim of anti- cancer property , with sour taste. Has nutritional value , using along lung cancer medications as a supplement  , will not harm . Good luck.

Proven vs unproven: By definition, "alternative" is different than modern western medicine.  Generally any drug, herb, treatment, or procedure that stands up to rigorous scientific scrutiny is included in modern medicine.  The problem is that many alternative practices, herbs etc do not stand up to scientific scrutiny and cannot be shown to work. They therefore remain "alternative".   Soup may comfort but not cure.

Multiple diseases: Cancer is multiple diseases. Some cancers, especially in children are curable. Most cancers will respond to the treatment but become resistant like bacteria become resistant to antibiotics. You should try to prevent cancer through healthy diet, exercise and maintaining normal weight, no tobacco, no alcohol. Get HPV vaccine.

None: Unfortunately no food is known to cure cancer. Healthy diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, nuts; low in saturated fats; no tobacco and no more than one drink a day; exercise at least 30 minutes/day may prevent some cancers.

Yes: An early basal cell carcinoma can be excised with the expectation of cure. I'm personally familiar with hundreds of different types of cancer and the books describe thousands more. Hodgkin's -- once uniformly fatal -- is now cured in the vast majority of cases.  There are aggressive sarcomas that have never been cured.

A variety: Early stage cancers - such as breast or prostate are very curable.   Also early lung cancer or colon cancers can also be curable.   Lymphomas are also easier to cure.
