Yes: An early basal cell carcinoma can be excised with the expectation of cure. I'm personally familiar with hundreds of different types of cancer and the books describe thousands more. Hodgkin's -- once uniformly fatal -- is now cured in the vast majority of cases. There are aggressive sarcomas that have never been cured.
