Possibly: Estrogen is very low right before your menstrual cycle, so it's possible that's the reason for the soreness. It's also possible that you have a yeast or bacterial infection. If it were me, i might have doctor check and make sure infection isn't the cause.  Best wishes.

How: Sore in what way?  Sometimes vagina sore because of yeast or bacterial infection. Other times increased venous congestion can cause around time of premenstrusl period and actual period.  Dryness can also feel sore.  You can rephrase question include what makes it worse/better. Any other associations.

Get checked for STDs: Any abnormal vaginal bleeding, including spotting between periods, needs professional evaluations. Vaginal or vulvar soreness also isn't normal. A yeast infection is possible, but unlikely to cause bleeding. An STD is a good bet for all symptoms, including herpes if there are blisters or sores. Or course STDs are possible only if sexually active and at risk. See a doctor ASAP. Good luck!

Time to uncoil?: You need to talk to your GYN MD to find out if there is a reason for your symptoms and if it relates to the presence of your intrauterine coil. An examination will make that determination for you as to whether there are other causes of the symptoms. It might be time to relax and "uncoil" if nothing else is found wrong.

: Menstrual irregularities are not uncommon and anovulatory cycle is a common cause. If you miss more than two periods it would be time to see your doctor. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time. You may consider implanted contraceptive or an IUD.
