Gastroenteritis: Most commonly this is due to a transient viral infection, but with the history you provide any of the things you were guessing about may have occurred. It is not something that can be diagnosed long distance. Good luck and I hope this clears up quickly.

i threw up one day but i assumed it was food poisoning and i had a sore throat the following day. i got a covid test?

Symptoms : Vomiting can cause a sore throat so can a virus-like COVID 19. Seems like the vomiting is related to the sore throat. Maybe you have a skin infection on your face. See a doctor

: Sore throat can be due to common cold virus(most common cause) or bacterial cause such as strept- throat(requires examination by a physician and culture of the throat).If you have Fever of more than 100 degree, then you should get checked by a physician. 
Take pain medicine to reduce the pain intensity(Tylenol/Paracetamol every 6 hours for 2-3 days will help). By that time it will start to go away

No: Acid reflux is physiologic. In other words, it's normal. However, it becomes pathologic when it bothers you. Fermented food doesn't cause acid reflux any more than non-fermented food. However, "bad" acid reflux allows acid to get high enough back up esophagus to cause sore throat. Antacids (calcium carbonate), H2 blockers &amp; proton pump inhibitors help. Stay upright after small meals.

Doctor can check: A very sore throat can be evaluated by a primary care doctor or an ear-nose-throat doctor to see what the cause might be.  Sometimes it is a strep throat bacterial infection. Other possibilities include a tonsillar abscess, a viral infection, a throat ulcer, etc...  The doctor has to look at the throat to figure out what is going on.
