It's : It's hard to say without examining you whether you actually have an infection, an ingrown toenail, or another problem going on with your toe.  Give your doctor a call and have them take a look at it.  If your primary care doctor is unable to help you, you may want to contact a podiatrist in your area.  If it is an infection, you may need antibiotics.  If you have an ingrown toenail, they can cut out the piece of the nail that is ingrown - sometimes at the root of the nail - and apply a medication to stop the nail from re-growing in that spot and becoming ingrown again.

In the meantime, make sure you are soaking your toe in warm water 2-3 times a day for 20 minutes at a time. If it is worsening instead of improving, or if you have increased redness, swelling, pain, drainage, or fever, call your doctor immediately.

Possible: however, heat, pain, redness and swelling are cardinal signs of inflammation and/or infection. I suggest a podiatry evaluation

Itchy toes/genitals: It appears that something is triggering a nerve condition in the lumbar sacral spine of the child. Nerve roots of the lumbar sacral spine innervate the genitals in addition to the feet. Child should be seen As soon as possible. preferably by pediatric neurologist.

Just a thought: This sounds like an infected INGROWN TOENAIL!

You should check this out with a Physician who does minor Foot surgery.

Did you injure it?: Check the nail - is there any particular swelling or pus-like material coming from anywhere near the nail? Are your toes rubbing against overly tight shoes? I am not sure why it is this way. Would be concerned about possible infection.  Warm? Tender? Swollen? Pus? Red streaking?  One option is to see you podiatrist  for evaluation & treatment.

No. Need MRA.: The MRI doesn't show the problem with circulation. It will only show the EFFECT of a problem with circulation, &amp; only if it is severe. To get a better estimate of blood flow, an MRA (magnetic resonance angiogram) is more useful, but even that is limited since the pictures are not very clear, &amp; don't show the small blood vessels (microvasculature) that usually cause pain in the toes, only big block

Probable infection: Sometimes an oral antibiotic alone can solve the problem, other times a podiatrist may need to remove a sliver of nail. You can try soaking in warm water and epsom salt and applying a topical antibiotic , if no improvement see a foot doctor.

i rubbed a sore on my foot approx two weeks ago and it seems to be having hard time healing. has a lot of redness around it. what should i do?

It just needs...: To heal up.  I would apply traumeel cream (or ointment) to help promote healing.  It is homeopathic and available online or at most whole foods stores.  This is anecdotal, but I have been personally using it for myself my family and my patients for 25 years.  It is very safe, so you can apply it as often as you want.  Sometimes i will apply it four or five times a day on cuts on myself.
