i punctured my left quad 4 days ago $ ended up with 10 stitches. dr said no muscle damage but my quad is super sore / tight. is this normal?

Time will tell.: The local inflammation and presence of the stitches can make this area feel tight and sore even in the absence of actual quadriceps muscle damage.  But, if soreness and tightness persist beyond another ten days, then an MRI may be in order.

did sprints 10 days ago in the cold. still feel soreness (continue to exercise daily). did i strain my quad muscles? how long will i be sore?

Probably: If you did sprints and now feel discomfort in your quads w/ walking and esp.Stairclimbing than you did. Muscle strains( depending on severity) of the quads in your age group can take 2-6 weeks to heal.Best to avoid sprinting or fast jogging for ~4-6 wks to avoid re- injury. Gl!

Overdoing workouts: It sounds like you did too much during your first workout. Enthusiasm is great, but you need to go slowly to start. Get some guidance from a trainer as to how to get a workout routine started, make sure you are adequately hydrated and do warm up and cool down stretching . These things should go a long way to prevent your post-workout soreness.

Possibly: There are several possible causes for numbness of the anterior thigh including a pinched nerve in the lumbar spine. Have it evaluated.

No. An annular tear-: -usually has symptoms of back pain. If that is the only finding on Ur MRI, these symptoms R not related 2 the tear.

Need an exam: The complaints are very vague, a visit to your doctor may allow for more interview and examination. This is the best approach to symptoms described.  The differential diagnosis is too braod for achy legs. It could be mechanical , postural, nerve issues, back issues, vascular, neuromuscular, or normal reponse to extreme activities.

Several possibilitie: It could be the result of recent activities and you have made the muscles sore from exercise (mountain climbing, stairs, etc.) or could be from medications that cause muscle soreness.  There could be a bruise from a direct blow.  You could possibly have a clot in the calf and this is serious.  There are other less common causes of leg muscle soreness.  If concerned see your pcp right away.

Yes- if tolerated: Mild muscle achiness should not prevent you from working out on subsequent days.

Partly: Soreness or pain is general indicator from the body that something is amiss with the organ and needs attention.  Accumulation of Lactic Acid due to prolonged anaerobic metabolism by the muscle is part of the cause of soreness.

Fibromyalgia: Although this is a "catch all" diagnosis in a lot of cases, one of the common reason for diffuse aching and soreness in muscles can be lead to a condition called fibromyalgia.  Consulting a reumatologist would help.
