Red, warm?: If so, it may be infected. Streaking red lines from that sore or a fever would be the first signs of cellulitis and that needs attention.

NEED FOR CUSHION!: Most shoes aren't always what is bad, usually it's the crummy insoles they come with! there are many possibe reasons  that you may have callouses on the foot, but try cushioning arch supports like spenco polysorb cross-trainers(http://www.Spenco.Com/products/footcare/poly-sorb).  If these don't help, see a podiatrist.... Routine trimming or surgery may help too, depending on a accurate diagnosis.

Get it treated.: The bottom the foot is no place to have an open wound. Cellulitis and infection are easily obtained. The best thing to do is have the wound treated by a doctor, this, minimizing your chance for the consequences of a severe infection.

Seek prompt evaluation for potential need of oral antibiotics/X-ray /labs. F/U with your doctor if symptoms persist or worsen, oral antibiotics may be needed. Also a tetanus shot of &gt;10 yrs

Those dang warts.: Just in case it is a plantar wart, it would be wise to begin treating it soon. If you are not sure, then have it evaluated by a doctor experienced in warts and their treatment options. Left untreated, warts can spread like a wild fire, making the any treatment protocol more difficult.

between the bottom of my foot and my ankle, it is very sore. what could be wrong? i just got new skates and they have been tight in that area. they havn't hurt this bad so i don't understand what's wrong.

There : There are several possibilities in this case. Heel pain per se could be plantar fasciitis. Pain on the back side of the foot could be some achilles tendinitis. Based on the description of pain with skates i believe that ill fitting skates are causing an achilles tendinitis. Some individuals have bony prominences in the area called haglud deformity that could put added pressure to the area. Try another sport!
