Stye: This sounds like a stye, which is also known as a chalazion or a hordeolum. These arise from a blocked gland in the edge of the eyelid.  It sounds like it is already draining, which is good. Warm compresses several times a day will help it resolve. However it is important to see your eye doctor to confirm the diagnosis and prescribe the proper medication, which may or may not include an antibiotic.

does eyelid cancer show a bump or sore of some kind, or would some eyelashes missing be all there is to see? my eyelid looks normal but some hairs on the outer corner of right upper lid are missing? do i need to be concerned about this being cancer?

: Rarely, skin cancer of the eyelid can cause localized lash loss but the skin on the eyelid won't be intact and you should recognize the lesion at that area. If your eyelid looks normal, you should be fine, the lashes will grow back.

small hard white bumps on upper eyelids. itching under jaw and sides of face.  eyes swollen before, not now. no soreness. possible allergic reaction?

Allergic reaction: Itch can be a sign of skin irritation and not necessarily an allergic reaction.  I would suggest you take an over the counter antihistamine and if you are or have been recently on any medication contact your health care giver to see if you have an allergy to a medication.

pink swollen eyelid, sore throat/cold. dr said stye, but there is no bump at all! just an overall swelling/pain. incorrect diagnosis perhaps?

Probably right: Most styes start out with diffuse swelling of a part or sometimes the whole lid.  As your body starts to deal with it, it becomes localized to the more typical focal redness and swelling. I hope you were told to apply heat 4-5 times per day which is in face the best treatment.

i have swollen left eyelid and very painful. no bumps. also left lymph node under chin is very tender and swollen? what could this be?

Could be a sty : It may be an early sty.  It should be one eyelid not both that is swollen. If one the use of warm compresses four times a day for 5-10 minutes for a couple of days should help. If both lids are swollen it may be preseptal infection and you should see a doctor as you may need antibiotics. If the swelling doesn't resolve in a 2 days or you are running a fever see a doctor.

a small white pimple like bump appeared in the corner of my inner upper eyelid. it is tender to the touch and irritating my eye. is it likely a sty?

Yes: 25 year old lady with upper eyelid bump and eye irritation. It is quite likely a sty or chalazion. You can use a warm compress applied to eye for a few minutes and then wash your eyelid/eyelash area with some baby shampoo. If the problem gets worse, see your physician for an exam because antibiotic ointment can be used. Try over the counter artificial tears for the eye dryness.

Doctor can evaluate: A primary care doctor can evaluate to see if the problem is a stye or hordoleum in the lid. He may refer to an ophthalmologist if there is a suspicion that the problem is some unusual eyelid infection or a skin cancer of the lid.

Hordeolum: Hordeolum, or "styes" are very common.  It is an infection from normal skin bacteria, but antibiotics are not helpful.  Warm compresses with a damp towel to the area for 15 minutes 4 - 6 times daily are the best form of treatment.  It can take from days up to 2 weeks to regress completely, and they can be become pink and tender.  It's not normal to persist beyond 2 weeks.
