Sort of: There is a medication in the US called "Daytrana", which is a patch that can be placed on your skin, and it lasts 10 hrs.   There are no "depot shots" available however.  This might be a good alternative if you do not want to take tablets, however.

Safe up to 55 lbs wt: Central precocious puberty requires both early development of both pubic hair + breast development. Should be safe for girls weighing up to 55 lbs. Should be given regularly every 28 days. Consider 2nd opinion if daughter is older than age-8-years.

Lupron (leuprolide) is not alone: Endometriosis is a common cause of cyclic pelvic pain.  It is linked to your menstrual cycle, so attempts to suppress your cycle should help with pain related to endomtriosis.  Hormonal therapies including birth control pills, NuvaRing and the depo-shot should be re-considered.  Also, these combined with nsaids (ibuprofen-like medications) should be considered.

Few: Low estrogen causes hot flashes, dry vagina, and osteoporosis (week bones).
Local reaction at the injection site.
Some of the effects of low estrogen can be minimized by estrogen add back therapy (taking very small amount of estrogen).

Not uncommon: It can take up to 9 months it makes it very difficult to know if you are pregnant or not if you are having unprotected sex because you do not know  when you start to ovulate. So check a pregnancy tear If concerned .

Irregular ovulation: is most likely cause, if not pregnant. This can be from polycystic ovarian syndrome, or thyroid issues, for example. Testing and treatment with your doctor is the next best step. it may take 12 months for the effect of the Depo, to wear off, as well.
