during lunch and dinner, i ate chicken, and after eating, my nose got itchy and sneezed several times. 2 weeks ago, my nose got itchy also after eating shrimp. can it be because i'm allergic to it? after all these years, i just discovered it lately?

: Maybe/not. What else were you exposed to in these settings. Some pollen in the air, a seasoning on the food? Something you drank? Food allergies do occur and can be acquired as you get older but they are hard to pin down. Excluding a food from your diet for a week &amp; re-introducing it can often confirm/exclude the issue if symptoms are minor.

i have sneezing fits like 4-5 times after eating sweets things like jam with bread,desserts!etc.i have turbinate hypertrophy.is this allergy to sweet?

Unlikely: If you are referring to sugar, then there is no known mechanism or scientific basis for developing an allergy to it.  However it is possible that you may be allergic to one of the ingredients in "sweets" such as dairy, egg , wheat , fruits, etc.  Allergic diseases often cause nasal congestion and thus this may be the cause for your turbinate hypertrophy.

Reflux more likely: You appear to have both acid and bile reflux which can really irritate and inflame your throat   see GI doc.

What did you eat?: If your blood sugar is confirmed low within a few hours of a meal, it often suggests that a high sugar or starchy meal was ingested without protein. It is commonly seen in the teenage girl who only eats chips and sugared soda for lunch and in people with Insulin resistance who may have diabetes or prediabetes. Also ifpatients take too much Insulin or don't eat enough protein after taking insulin.

PossibleHypoglycemia: We need more information but it is possible you are getting Hypoglycedia after eating sugar as it raises your blood sugar and your body over reacts to it by producing insulin and that may be causing hypoglycemia
I suggest you consult your Doctor as need to be checked and may need blood test and it may be due to other causes as well

hard to judge: Your glucose level after a meal varies with what you ate, how fast, the speed of your GI tract at digestion, etc.  It is hard to comment on that value, although i would not think an apple would get you to 126.  If you are testing your sugars because you have diabetes, or are worried about diabetes, best to check fasting and pre-meal, and also follow your a1c.

No: That is expected. Your blood sugar should go up after eating. Generally, it shouldn't go way above 200 after eating though. So, you're doing fine if that reading is consistent after meals.

Avoid sweets: Some people have hormone changes occur after eating sweets that make them drowsy.  Most often, these people are on their way to getting diabetes if they don&#x27;t have it already. To avoid this, avoid eating concentrated sweets, or do something physically active to offset the drowsiness.  Caffeine may be helpful, but can also set someone up for feeling even more drowsy later on when it wears off.
