my eldest son, now 2 1/2 sneezed. mucus came out, but  also a foreign egg shaped, hollow item. it is very dark green in colour. ?

Foreign body: At that age with that description this is likely something he shoved up his nose that he sneezed out. You are lucky it didn't stay longer. From foam pieces to food to beads or other toy parts kids do strange things. The longer it stays the worse they smell and the more potential for a nasal infection.

Sneezing: Hello, sneezing will help remove mucus from the nasal cavity. If the nasal mucus is thick and discolored, associated with a fever, a sinusitis may be present. Otherwise, think allergy and consider an otc antihistamine.

post-septoplasty. saw doc 10/23 for stitch removal (didn't dissolve). he says looks good. but i'm sneezing alot. mucus is thick but clear. why sneeze?

Reflex: Could be related to the nondisolving stitch that's causing a reflex sneeze when you breathe in or tickles your nose hairs, or depending on how it's healing. Mucus is to be expected post-op nose surgery. Good that you are in the clear!

Yes by definition: However your problem could be from an allergic reaction and you likely have asthma as well (milk , clam. or other ingredients in the chowder).   Consult an allergist to find out what you may be allergic to and whether you have asthma.

Another virus: better get your child re-evaluated, RSV and Flu viruses are tested initially to exclude them and to see if your infant needs isolation if admitted together with watching for progression of symptoms and start some specific therapy if needed per case, please check with your pediatrician, probably other households have the same, hopefully it would just be a simple upper respiratory viral infection

: Yes. Any mechanical disruption of the nasal mucosa, either in the septum or in the turbinates, can trigger the sneezing response and subsequent mucus production. Warm saline nasal washes with sterile water can alleviate the irritation. Talk to your Dr about additional measures such as mupirocin ointment to be applied to the nasal mucosa.

im been coughing for 3months and coughing with green phlegm and sneezing out same mucus in green colors.may i know what is the reason?

Likely infection: Likely sinus infection; get saline nasal lavage. antihistamine with decongestant &amp; fluids.
If possible a power nebulizer with saline (hypertonic, 3.5%) twice a day if then persist or a fever go to doctor for antibiotics
