No: One is an infection , the other an allergic reaction.   Theoretically, one may conjecture that an inflamed vaginal mucosa from an allergic reaction renders it more prone to infection but in practice this is not what happens

Yes, not regularly: GI symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, upper abdominal dyscomfor and abdominal bloating including diarrhea or constipation are usually common in any form of pelvic infection such as STD, UTI, pyelonephritis and enddometriosis. However, these are not the primary or most common symptoms. After treatment if GI symptoms persist consider alternative diagnosis like GERD, PUD &amp; hepatobiliary abnormalities

Is MD sure it's BV?: This type of infection must be cultured and conclusive given the 5 year history of its'" presence." Yes, PID can occur when certain types of bacteria are "massaged" during intercourse through the cervix into the uterus and fallopian tubes. A GYN MD is your best bet for vaginal infection accuracy, and if you have been seeing one, acquire a 2nd opinion(&amp; culture) from another.

No: Bacterial vaginosis is a mild infection of the vagina caused by bacteria being out of balance. Normally, there are a lot of good bacteria and some bad bacteria in the vagina. The good types help prevent the overgrowth of the bad types. With bacterial vaginosis, there are not enough good bacteria and too many bad bacteria. Women do not need to have sex to have bacterial vaginosis.

Very unlikely: there are cases of BV causing PID which can block your fallopian tubes, but even that isn't likely.  Many women pregnanct and non pregnant have issues with BV.  Its not something I worry about when treating infertility or discussing fertility.

: The reasons for HPV reactivation are not well known. BV may be a factor in some cases, but usually not. The large majority of women over age 30 who have abnormal Pap smears (or newly discovered HPV on pap) have experienced reactivation, not a new HPV infection. In almost all cases, no particular reason can be found. Reactivation of HPV is so common it should be considered normal.

No: PID is triggered by a set of germs best known as sexually transmitted diseases. Chlamydia &amp; gonorrhea are the most often identified, though a few others are seen but rare. The moist protein/glucose rich mucous of the female genital tract attracts many stray germs that trigger this localized process. It does not traverse the cervix into the uterus &amp; tubes to extend into the pelvis.

No: Not generally unless u scratched and cut yourself. Keep it clean, it could be due to sex; if it keeps getting worse, go in.

Not an STD: Bv is not an std. See your gyn for treatment.
