Sounds like a fungus: They can have a pretty strong odor. Dry warm air, like blow dryer, to the skin there for several minutes at least 2 times a day help prevent the small spores for germinating each day. Topical anti-fungal cream, like Lamisil, (terbinafine) applied after drying. This fungus likes warm moist places. Blow dry throughly and use fungal medication. Good luck. I don't know but: It could be a sign of internal problems - kidney or liver? Go see ur dr for a thorough exam. (when was the last time u took a shower? My bad!) have fun in life!

Fishy smell: You may have a vaginal or pelvic infection, some of which give off a fishy odor.  You need to get a pelvic examination.

Infection likely: Boils, anal fistula, ; pilonidal cysts can occur in area between anal opening ; genitalia ; often are painful, red, swollen and drain pus or foul smelling material. Soaking in tub with warm water with or without epsom salt may provide some relief if a boil or pilonidal cyst but both usually require antibiotics. A fistula usually requires surgery ; antibiotics. An exam of area is recommended.

Abscess?: I don't know the size, but you may have an abscess. Abscesses often need to be incised and drained. Please contact your physician so that this can be further assessed.

Probably yeast: Try keeping the area clean and dry. You can try over the counter lam idol cream twice a day. If it is not improving after a few days see your doctor. It may take a week or so to go away. If your skin touches itself there all the time try putting a cotton hanky between your legs to separate the skin and it will keep the infection from coming back.You can use Hydrocortisone cream for the itch.

A possibility: Sound like a typical description of hidradenitis superativa, or persistent abscess-like infections usually under the armpit.  Know that smoking is a common exacerbant.  Multiple strategies exist to treat, including surgery, and so I would recommend seeing a physician sooner than later. Good luck!
