: Lymph nodes are located throughout the body &amp; generally noticeable in exposed areas like the neck. They are usually PEA sized at rest and enlarged when stimulated by bug bites, dermatitis, drainage or infection. They rarely can become damaged by infection &amp; grow to golf ball size &amp; need drainage or removal. The node as described is normal.

Post auricular LN: It is persists beyond the first  few weeks of the year then have your family doctor or your local ent doctor check you .  You may have lymph nodes elsewhere that you can not feel.  Usually the doctor will give you an antibiotic to see if it does not resolve.  If no change, then it will need to come out or get biopsied with a needle.  I see these very often and they usually go away.  Feel better!

i have had a terrible migraine all day. i also noticed a small broad bean size lump to my lower neck (possible lymph node swelling?) but not painful.

Lump: Sometimes these are reactive lymph nodes reacting to either throat, ear or sinus infections. Please see a doctor.

: You are likely correct. Any disturbance of the skin surface as would be in tattoo removal may trigger enlargement of local nodes that can persist for a few weeks.
