Most likely lipomas: Lipomas are varying sized fatty benign tumors that are under the skin & mobile as well as being painless.  They are pretty common. These lumps could also be cysts.  If they are not painful & not growing in size, you can discuss them with your doctor at your next appointment or go earlier if they are enlarging or painful.  There are a list of other possibilities but they rank lower down on the list.

Lump on back: A lump on the back can have many benign and nonbenign causes. If you just noticed the lump and it is not causing any discomfort or pain, you can see if it will resolve on its own over  the next week or two. If this has been there for more than a month or is causing discomfort or has changed over time, see a doctor to get the lump examined. Your doctor may decide to image and/or biopsy the lump.

See your doctor: Has this been evaluated?  Sounds like a pilonidal cyst and sinus tract; however, the findings warrant at least an exam and likely an ultrasound of the area to ensure that there is no connection of the opening with the spinal area.  You also want to make sure that the lump isn't a different type of mass.  SEE YOUR DOCTOR!

Cyst, pilonidal?: Sounds like it might be a cyst.  This is a common spot for them.  Warm compresses.  Should come to a head then rupture with time.   If this is recurrent it may need to be removed.

Probably a bruise: Blood that has nowhere to go, like under the lining of a bone, stays put &amp; calcifies, leaving a "knot" or "bump".

Epidermal cyst: Epidermal cysts are benign, but they are a nuisance, because they periodically go through the cycle that you described. Eventually it will swell up and pop again, discharging evil-smelling toothpaste-like stuff,  and later on it will do it again... So you should have it removed. Any dermatologist can do it in the office with local anesthetic. Minor surgery. No hurry.

Do nothing: Most likely a benign cyst. If soft @ moveable poss lipoma if firm who knows without it's removal. If it were me i would leave it alone, but 4 peace of mind if worried c ur pcp & let him/ her look @ it.

Nerve irritation: These can be lymph nodes or fibrositic nodules caused by small segments of intense muscle spasms from muscle overload.  Please make sure that you are not over exercising or lifting heavy things beyond what you can do. Please have your family dr. Evaluate you.
