Yes: Exercise make u loose fat anywhere and tones ur leg muscles. Gradual increase in exercise may prevent pains.

Possible sciatica : This can take so many different courses and variations.  It can take a few days or months or years,  and require a few OTC meds or physical therapy or  injections or even surgery.  Anti inflammatory meds with rest will most cases but work duties can aggravate over and over again.  Please review with your PCP.  You may have mild scoliosis or leg length differences.  Good luck

Burning thigh: First that comes to mind is melalgia paresthetica caused by nerve compression. Other causes cannot be ruled out. See your doc for an exam and further recommendations.

See your doctor: It could be a nerve problem, but equally it could be a root problem and anything in between.  There are other disorders that could predispose to symptoms such as these, so getting a good history and physical exam would be important to evaluate this completely.

The sciatic nerve is not the cause of the pain source, it is the result of an irritated nerve typically in the lumbar spine (low back) which are caused by herniated disks, spinal stenosis or degenerative disc disease requiring further evaluation by a spine specialist.

If this pain interferes with your daily activities, then you should see a physician(PCP) for further evaluation and tests to exclude DVT.

Now, the most important. you should go to see an orthopedic surgeon, make the appointment today for you to be seen tomorrow. Or go to an ER, say that the pain is very bad.
The causes may be a hematoma to a tumor.
 For how long, is the pain, is present all the time, or in some positions goes away?.
You need an MRI of the pelvis-hips.
