Brain Damage, No: Human skulls are quite thick, as they should be. Pressing on your scalp will not cause brain damage.

a steel post fell on top of my foot almost a week ago. the pain is gone but the metatarsal is raised up and my foot tingles. what does this mean?

Bruised nerve: Crush injuries to the top of the foot often bruise one or more of the nerves on top of the foot.(see picture) . Most common nerve injured is the deep perineal nerve  that supplies sensation to the 1st and 2nd toes .

Any shoe that contracts the area where it is injured ( will increase the tingling.This may take months for it to go away . See foot doc to confirm

Unusual feeling : That's an unusual feeling to feel that your skull is caving in from the top. If you physically feel that's going on, you need to see your doctor as soon as possible to check this out. Then, go from there. Hopefully you will find the cause of this concern. Also, you will need to have a complete physical done to make sure that there isn't something else underlying this.

See Dr.: If your skull is indeed changing its shape, there could be some growth such as an abscess or cystic structure, or lipoma or other conditions causing your issues.  You need to see a dr. For an evaluation and assessment of the area.  Best wishes to you.

Mri: If you haven't had an MRI of your brain, I would have one done.  Some very uncommon benign lesions in your brain, such as meningiomas can cause epilepsy, seizures and can cause skull erosion.  If you had an MRI and it's clean, don't worry about it.
