is this a compulsion? Can you really control it? You'll have to answer this in a very honest way to yourself, because that will be the difference between the need on self training on not doing it or need for medication to control the impulse.

Normal: Be sure you support her head with one hand when you pick her up. She will gain strength in this area over time, but it is normal at 3 wks.

Headache: New onset headaches have to be evaluated with imaging (mri)to rule out other causes. If negative and if the pain is mostly on the forehead area and a little above that lasting for few seconds , appearing at different sites in the above area , it could be ice pick headache(primary stabbing headache). Melatonin is thought to be good for this kind headache. See a neurologist.
