Treat symptoms: Any skin irritation can be caused by irritants, bugs or allergies. Try washing the area with water and removing any creams, lotions, makeup, soap residues, etc. Then use an antihistamine such as benadryl, zyrtec or claritin to reduce the local inflammation. Soothing topicals like calamine can also help. if the rash spreads or worsens, see a dr.
