No: Skin scrapings are not a substitute for biopsy. However a biopsy may not be needed, depending on other findings, clinical history and blood test results.

Sick: You have listed a number of symptoms describing an illness that could represent a viral stomach flu. Food poisoning could be considered. Headache and nausea are also symptoms that could represent meningitis. In any case, a diagnosis can't be made without proper history and exam.

Viral infection?: Viruses are the most common cause of sore throat. Many viruses are accompanied by rashes. If the problem hasn't  gotten better with antibiotics, it may be a virus and you don't need an antibiotic. Alternatively, you may be on the wrong antibiotic and need a different one. You should go back to your GP for a revisit

I am sure that biopsies have been done and that we at least have some idea about what is not causing your symptoms.  By this point we also likely have an idea about which treatments work and which don't.

Spongiotic dermatitis: is another way of referring to a condition known as acute eczema that is usually found affecting the abdomen, chest and even the bottom while the scalp is generally free from this condition. Defer to my Derm colleagues for another opinion.

Accepted Answer

Avoid sexual: activity, thong underwear, tight jeans or bathing suits. I suggest using Advil/Aleve for pain ( if not allergic to these products ) and massage Neosporin or triple antibiotic ointment to the affected area.
