None that work: In 30 years of practice, I have yet to find a single "natural" remedy that is effective for psoriasis. But there are lots of legitimate options, from topical steroids to vitamin d derivatives to ultraviolet light to methotrexate, cyclosporine, the biologic drugs, and many others. A lot depends on severity, the areas involved, and how you feel about it. See a dermatologist.

No: Joint and skin severity are not related. More aggressive arthritis does not lead to more severe skin involvement and increased skin involvement does not increase the risk of arthritis.

Accepted Answer

Yes: Psoriatic arthritis can begin before a patient has psoriasis.  In that case the diagnosis is made on clinical findings, and radiographs.  Blood tests for rheumatoid arthritis are typically negative, but labs may show evidence of inflammation.

No: Some people only get the arthritis. Sometimes the psoriatic skin condition comes years after the arthritis starts. I am very careful before I diagnose PSA in a patient without psoriasis. For me, a very careful detailed history from the patient and physical exam are helpful in this situation.

Many: Your dermatologist can help find the right medication. It can be a topical medication like a topical steroid or topical vitamind. It can be an oral medication or even a self injection like Enbrel (etanercept) which phil mickelson the golfer takes. You need an evaluation.

Gray hair: I doubt that the skin disorder is related to your premature gray hair. Autoimmune disease, genetics, vitamin deficiency, stress, thyroid or other hormonal changes and even stress have been named as causes. Your dermatologist can advise you best and order appropriate tests.
