Yes they do: Demodex mites live in sebaceous glands and are associated with oily skin. They can be treated with an antibiotic but may recur.   Other treatments for oily skin and rosacea need to be used. See your dermatologist for ongoing help

72 hours: Scabies can live for about 3 days off of the skin. That's why if you have items that need cleaning that you can't put through hot water in the wash to kill the mites, you bag the items in a clean garbage bag, seal it up , and leave it for 3 days and the items will be good to go again.

There are ticks and other insects that might "cross paths" so to speak if you are interacting closely with these species. Interesting: Never heard that the skin would be susceptible to insect bites more than someone else's unless the smell of the skin- soaps, colognes, perfumes, etc. maybe attracts the bugs more.  You might try not wearing anything that has a fragrance to it- even washing clothes in fragrance free detergent and dryer sheets.

: Your best chance remains establishing with  a local physician and having your medical records transferred from your previous doc timely so that you get a diagnosis and proper treatment. Your condition will require a physical exam with or without cultures. Alternatively if this is a recurring condition for which you got treated in the past, your previous doc might be able to help in the mean time.

Keep it in there for 48 hours because.

If you used the medication prescribed to treat the scabies, any unhatched eggs should become unviable, meaning dead and unable to hatch.
