Consider followup: Not all intracranial bleeds are seen with the first ct. If you have signs, symptoms, or history to suggest that possibility you should see a doctor and possibly get another ct scan. The history you provide is not specific enough to give you more information.

Healing: It sounds like your body did heal nicely. Work up will still be needed in order to understand what where the possible causes for the bleed, so that secondary prophylaxis will be in place. Best would be to establish with a neurologist in order to better prepare for the future.

Do not worry: Most closed head injuries by far are very benign, and kids are very resilient.  Your description is typical of a fully resolved bruise over the scalp, and sounds only like he has upper respiratory tract infection now.  However, if he seems very sleepy, has repetitive nausea and vomiting, and seems to act in unusual way, contact pediatrician just to reassure.

: Do not worry too much. It happens to almost everybody throughout our lifetime. Only a major traumatic injury does cause subdural or epidural hematoma in healthy people.

Blood vessel study: Usually a small bleed in the brain by itself is not dangerous.  The main concern is what caused the bleed. Sources can be trauma, aneurysm, avm, tumors, coagulopathies, infections, and inflammatory diseases.  Usually a test to look at the blood vessels such as a ct angiogram and/or catheter angiogram are performed along with a series of blood tests to evaluate. Occasionally MRI as well.

Maybe: We have very sensitive MRI equipment and it would be very unlikely to miss any brain bleeding causing clinical symptoms, but on occasion, if cat scan is used, one might miss an "isodense subdural hematoma".
