: At "63",  depo lupron may be given for persistent vaginal bleeding.  While osteoporosis can accompany menopause, mediations can treat this, but vaginal bleeding needs to be diagnosed at this stage, via endometrial biopsy.  See your GYN for guidance.

Local reaction: Check to see if it's the same manufacturer.  Could be a local reaction to preservative.  Other possibilities are infection due to the injection.  If the redness spreads and the pain worsens, she should see her physician to have it appropriately diagnosed.

Usually Mild: When i treat patients with Depo-Provera Lupron (leuprolide) (for instance for endometriosis) i usual;y use add back therapy, this is a second medicine used to prevent the side effects from lupron (leuprolide). The addback usually reduces or gets rid of any hot flashes, any vaginal dryness, or any mood swings. So in this way i usually prevent side effects from ever occurring.

Side Effects: Side effects of Anabolic steroids include, but are not limited to:  excess red cell division and clotting (stroke, blood clots to the lungs), prostate enlargement, testicular atrophy, pituitary disfunction, breast tissue development, sleep apnea, and mood changes.  

Its a real bad idea to take any hormone in excess of a physiologically normal value.

Progesterone : Progesterone injections are often used weekly for the prevention of preterm labor in patients with a previous pregnancy complicated by preterm labor starting around 15 weeks -35 weeks. This is a common practice. Progesterone is generally not given for abdominal pain. Ask your doctor to clarify the rationale for this course of action.

: This type of steroid treatment can give a patient an appetite increase. It is not the type of steroid that would interfere with menses. Long term side effects of steroids depend on dosing &amp; frequency and rarely are features of sporadic use.

No major side effect: Platelet rich plasma itself is a safe procedure and aside from local pain at the site of injection has no associated significant side effect.  Keep in mind that all injections have associated inherent risk as they can cause anatomical damage.

Unlikely: But if u have been taking them  for 12 years , don't u think  it is more appropriate to discuss this with  the doctor who prescribed to u?
