how do you know if mupirocin nasal ointment is causing major side effects? i stop putting it in my nose 4 days ago and i still can smell it in my sinus cavities and it is draining down my throat and making me hoars

Side effects: Immediately contact the physician that prescribed this medication for you. He/she will want to adjust your treatment. Side effects should disappear with time. If they are not demising daily be sure to also report this to your physician.

after applying mupirocin for my impetigo condition, scabs form up at the sides of the wound. should i pick this scab?

No!: Leave the scabs alone :)  They will fall off in due time when they are ready.  Picking at the wound is just a great way to reinfect the area and leave scars.

my baby scratched me very hard down the side of my face. what do i do to ensure healing and prevent scarring? can i use bactroban (mupirocin) ointment i have?

Simple treatment: If there is no evidence of infection then plain vaseline on the site to keep it moist will give you the best chance at healing with minimal scarring for most superficial injuries. Topical antibiotic ointments usually don't do much for you unless the wound was dirty (baby fingers can be dirty sometimes). If you are concerned then please see your doctor.

i have a cyst on my mons pubis on the left side, no pain.ive put warm compresses on it and have been using mupirocin. it's still here and ugly!

Incision, drainage: It sounds like this won't go away unless and until it is surgically drained. It would be a very minor, quick procedure. See a doctor about it.

Time for specialist: If you have been unable to stop a nose bleed after a few hours, you should be seen by either an emergency department physician or an ENT specialist.

had large skin biopsy on leg, given mupirocin to apply 2x daily for redness 12days post surgery. now worried, as i've had c-diff twice (and ongoing crohns) and it is listed as a possible side effect. should i discontinue?

C diff unlikely: Applying antibiotic to skin should not cause C diff infection. It may be worsening of Crohns.
