Probably not: What you are describing does not not appear to be concerning or serious. However, if that bump is growing in size, it is better to show it to your pcp or your local urologist.

Prominent cartilage?: May be a prominent costochondral cartilage.  The beesting was probably coincidental although there may be a small persistent scar over the area from a resolved bite reaction from the sting as another possibility.  Or there may be some other abnormality.  Best here to be examined by a doctor licensed in your area - this should be able to sort through the possibilities to make a diagnosis.  Good luc

Usually an hr or few: But sometimes the swelling and itching can last many hrs.Most people who are stung by bees just get a red, swollen iitchy "bump" in the area...Washing it right away..Using ice...Applying cortisone cream & taking an antihistamine usually provides relief. If you have bee sting allergy you can have more serious symptoms(hives all over, asthma, trouble breathing etc) if you have these see allergist.

Bee sting: Melittin is injected into the skin by a bee. This can cause significant  sharp pain for a few minutes due to stimulation of pain receptor nerve endings in skin. There can be residual achy pain for several days with tenderness to palpation.

Multistep: Remove stinger by scraping along edge of skin with a credit card.  Clean area with soap & warm water.  Apply ice in 10 minute increments; alternating 10 on & 10 off.  Try a bag of cold peas. You can take meds like tylenol, (acetaminophen) Aspirin or Motrin for pain or Benadryl for swelling.  Make a paste of 2 parts baking soda & 1 part water & apply.  Throat, airway or tongue  swelling, short of breath – call 911.

Careful observation: Fortunately, the vast majority of people are not allergic to insect stings. Immediate management of a sting, even in a baby, includes placement of an ice pack on the area and tylenol (acetaminophen) for pain. If a stinger remains, don't try to pull it out. Careful scraping along the skin with a rigid card or otherwise will slowly remove it. If a patient develops hives, Benadryl is the first medication to give.

Bee sting: Immediately ice packs will help decrease the swelling. Also antihistamines and or advil (ibuprofen) will help along with relieving the pain.
