Gynecological conditions such as endometriosis and other less or more serious conditions are possible.  It is advised you consult your regular doctor and gynecologist for further evaluation is you have are experiencing these symptoms.

Cranberry tabs: Best option is to call your clinician.  Many offices have protocol to treat UTIs over the phone in young healthy established patients with classic symptoms. Otherwise, can try cranberry tabs (mixed evidence), pyridium (phenazopyridine) of burning/urgency, and plenty of water.  See you dr asap if symptoms persist or worsen.

Wait and see: I would see how the next 24-48 hours go - your period could just be irregular and more bleeding may occur.  You could also be pregnant so take a home pregnancy test.  If you ARE pregnant, have bleeding and pain that is worsening you need to be seen right away.

She should not drive herself (call for an ambulance if symptoms are more than slight). If it turns out not to be an abnormal rhythm, myocarditis, anxiety attack symptoms, a collapsed lung, or pneumonia, the E.R. may still be able to offer some treatment.
