ive been having problems in the bathroom about my anus when i take showers or when i wipe it stings bad its been like this for about one year it comes and goes but i get it back in 2 days later and i have what looks to be a cut in middle on top :?

Could be Strep: One of the things I get concerned about when I see redness in this area is a Strep infection. Usually a bacterial culture will help rule this in or out. Chafing/irritation, yeast infection and other causes are also possible.

Anal discomfort: Possibilities include an anal fissure, perianal dermatitis, and hemorrhoids. A perianal abscess is less likely. I recommend that you consult a proctologist or colorectal surgeon for diagnosis,advice and treatment. In the meantime try warm applications and apply an ointment like anusol or cortisporin.

Be Gentle: Having itching around the anal area is often due to over cleansing, over wiping, and applying too many chemicals to the area. Avoid scented toilet paper. Don't use soap or lotion on the area. Instead, you can use a cleanser designed for the area called Balneol. And I know how hard this is, but don't scratch.
Foods can also be the problem - commonly red wine, tobacco, tomatoes, citrus, beer.

Anal fissure: Stinging and itching are more likely to by sign/symptom of fungal irritation. Okay to use anti-fungal powder. Okay to get evaluated by your doc. You may need an exam under anesthesia to get accurate diagnosis and plan of care. Correct constipation with bowel regimen. Be well.

Hemorrhoid : May be you have hemorrhoid . Please see your PCP and have it looked at and he / she should be ane to prescribe something.

Probable fissure.: You should try with your diet to keep your stool soft.  A lidocaine cream can help.  a consult with your PCP can confirm the diagnosis and treatment.
