Possibly: depending on when the "instability" occurs in motion and whether weakness, pain, range of motion limitation, atrophy are associated, helps determine whether one structure or another is affected.  labral tears are common in baseball players, however other thingscan also be involved.  you should be evaluated by a sports specialist, orthopedist, or physical medicine doctor if this persists.

A cartilage tear: The labrum is a structure attached to the edge of the bony socket, the glenoid, that has several functions.  Anteriorly the labrum serves as an attachment site for the anterior shoulder ligaments and helps to provide stability to the shoulder.  At the top of the shoulder the long head of the biceps tendon inserts into the labrum and tears here are called SLAP lesions.

More info: What were your symptoms prior to surgery? Were you a multiple dislocator? It can restabilize your shoulder to prevent dislocations. It can also make your shoulder more stiff.

Gentle presses : Machine or light dumbbell chest presses, with light weight and high reps. Avoid allowing the elbows to cross behind the chest, as this puts more stress on the shoulder joint and rotator cuff. Short arc flyes with the same precautions in mind are also acceptable.

Need MRI to tell : The only way to confirm that diagnosis is with an mri, and contrast helps improve the accuracy of seeing the tear.  You can have clicking, blocking of motion, instability and pain. But other things have the similar symptoms. Get an orthopaedic evaluation.

Only if MRI=exam : If you have activity related pain and had an injury, and the MRI shows a bankart/labral tear, then you should consider an arthroscopy. If no injury, or pain does not correlate to labral tear area, then surgery would be a last opion.

Hopefully: A small labral tear can potentially heal on its own, or it also may not.  The injection of stem cells, platelette derived growth factor, or other " growth factors" has been tried for several years; with variable results.  The good thing is it is relatively safe, and hopefully the tear will heal.  What is not clear if the cells or growth factor was any benefit; but again hopefully you will do well.
