hi. a rabid dog bited me & i recieved 4 shots of rabies vaccin and 1 shot tetanus.when injecting started the alcohol from preparing the skin area was not dry at all.in this case could alcohol kill the vaccin content ? should i get rabies vaccin again?

: The alcohol prep area does not need to be dry to touch when the injection is made. Any contact with alcohol through the area does not interfere with the action of the shot.

No: This is not normal, but can represent a minor reaction. If symptoms do not resolve. Follow up with her physician. I doubt this would be a reason to not get further tetanus immunizations.

Not usually: I have never heard of a tetanus shot causing chronic fatigue syndrome. It is much more likely to be related to your sleeping and eating patterns, if/what drugs you are taking, stress levels, etc. Medical causes might include thyroid imbalances, parathyroid problems, even depression. No: All you had was a booster in of your immune system using vaccines. It will be prudent though to keep a record of your vaccines so that indication of need for protection in future will be more accurately determined based on your geographic location, type of exposure and your risk of acquiring infection.

:  Tetanus arises when a cut or puncture wound is invaded by the spores which then form an infection. The flourishing germs elaborate the toxin responsible for the disease. The cited exposure is not a common site for tetanus spores. If there is never an infection, tetanus would not happen. However, consider a tetanus shot soon. Protection fades by 10 years after the last shot.

Recovery: Well, you've asked your immune system to 'multi-task' - processing 2 vaccines at one time, that cover for multiple diseases (several strains of flu, several different diseases- diphtheria, ?pertussis with the tetanus shot). It's completely NORMAL to feel this way. Kind of like going to the gym and working out - you definitely feel it. I expect you'll recover fine. Sleep, chicken soup, rest, etc.

Active vs passive: A tetanus shot is designed to stimulate protective antibodies that take 2-4 weeks to make and  will remain active in the patient for a decade. The immune globulin provides pre-made antibodies the help immediately and last for about a month.
