Gonorrhea and Chlamydia can cause sterility especially for females via Fallopian tube occlusion (blockage) and abscess. A word to the sexually wise, get STD tested before engaging a 2nd or 3rd partner if you are not in a mutually monogamous relationship.

Exam if symptoms: A pre-existing fungal rash, presumably in the area of your genitals would not interfere with evaluation for other std's and if you are having symptoms suggestive of an std, discharge, painful lesion, burning with urination etc then get evaluated quickly.
