Lidoderm patch: Try 5% Lidoderm patches, place them on the inside of the elbow to numb the ulnar nerve. If there is an fda indication for Lidoderm it's for pain related to shingles.

a rash (with blisters) appeared on my elbow two days ago and its burning, hurts like crazy. im wondering if its a possibility it could be shingles? ive never really had rashes, but its causing a lot of pain?

: Uncommon to get an isolated patch of Zoster on an elbow, especially at age 24. Many, many other more likely possibilities. If it persists and is really annoying, see your doctor

hi. i have been diagnosed with shingles, however it has been presenting this entire year. i have itchy bumps on my thigh, behind my elbows and sometimes near my eye, often with accompanying neauralgia. i have been on antiviral medication to no avail?

Likely not shingles: While it is possible for a person to get shingles more than once, it is quite rare, especially in the wake of the first attack. Your antibody levels to herpes zoster (the virus that causes shingles) are high and should prevent another infection for at least a while. More likely some there is some other cause behind the pain.

Herpes zoster: It's improving when new lesions stop showing up and existing ones become less painful and develop scabs. You should be on treatment with valacyclovir or other similar drug. If in doubt about any of this, check with the doctor treating you. Good luck!

Atypical: Your symptoms are atypical for angina and you are young. Shingles usually burns and is painful. Still shingle can have many features and symptoms. You dont even have to see a rash to be diagnosed with it. Other causes could be vasospasm or blocked arteries to arm. Pinched nerves as well. Go back for follow up and see if more testing is needed to sort things out.

i've just noticed some red marks on my right shoulder. like spots going from the top of my shoulder to under my arm. what could it be, shingles?

To tingle or not : If your rash tingles, it may be shingles. More likely shingles if there are blisters.  Shingles can happen anywhere along the skin. Can always look up dermatomes and see if your rash is spreading in a dermatomal distribution. If it involved more than one dermatome, get tested.
