Stressed host : Not sure I have the answer, but  it sounds as though your body&#x27;s defenses may be compromised, perhaps by the stress of your recent bout with shingles. Cold sore outbreaks are often related to stress, whether physical or emotional.  The genital area rash may or may not be related. Suggest you see you doctor for examination.

Maybe not shingles: You assume it's shingles. Some diseases resemble that.  It would be rare to have shingle in a limited pubic area.  You can take a friend or relative to be with you in the exam room when you see the doctor to make it less frightening for you. There is no home remedy for an I diagnosed disorder.

Topical steroid: For just itching a topical corticosteroid cream used only occasionally is soothing but if there is a yeast infection causing the itch, then this type of cream could aggravate it. Have a gyn examination if the itch persists or worsens.

Sore: If the eruption looks like a cold sore and is somewhat tender, it could be a herpes lesion. However it could be a simple cyst. If it persists have a physician or gynecologist check it.
