i got kicked in the shin, is it sprained or bruised?

Contusion: A bruise.  Direct impact to the shin results in damage to the soft-tissues overlying the bone.  Bruising can result in the collection of blood between the skin and bone, called a hematoma.  Sometimes these hematomas need to be evacuated and/or drained.  If swelling and pain is significant, see a sports specialist/orthopedic surgeon.

It's possible: It's possible but more likely to occur around the heel and ankle. Make sure you get an x-ray to make sure you don't have a broke bone.  Sometimes people think it is just a sprain and find that there is a fracture of the bone.  Go to a podiatrist.

Not unusual: You may still be having discomfort from the injury.

Painful ankle: Possibly, but it would be best if you took it easy over the next couple of days.  You can use price therapy.  If the pain is still the same after 10-14 days you should see a doctor and get some xrays.

Ankle sprain/fractur: When sprained ankles come in the ed docs use the ottawa ankle rules to decide who gets an x-ray and who doesn't. It isn't yet common practice but it makes sense to me to say if you don't need an x-ray according to these rules you don't need an er visit. The wiki page on ottawa ankle rules is accurate. Bad sprains can take months to get better and sometimes hurt so bad i've put on soft casts.

i sprained my ankle and hurt my shin on the same leg.now everytime i wake up i feel intense pain on my right leg but then it goes away. what's going ?

Spasm is still there: If you're having sharp pains in the morning, it depends where you're having those pains that will determine what the problem is. Best if you go see your doctor, so they can do a physical examination of your affected leg. You may still have muscle spasm from the sprained ankle in that leg, or you may have a shin splint,  that you might be unaware of. It's worth having this looked into.

Without knowing if: ...you injured your shin at the same time, I can't tell you if the lump has anything to do with your ankle sprain.  Bruising &amp; swelling of the shin are particularly noticeable since there's so little "padding" between the shin bone and the skin.  If you get more bruising or lumps on your shin or spontaneous bruises any where else, you should seek medical care.

Varies: If you do not remember injuring it, it would seem unlikely that it truly is a sprained ankle.  It can represent a localized area of inflammation or even a muscle strain or possibly a radicular pain from your back.  Consider being seen for a thorough evaluation.

Knee and shin pain: If they are mild, then short period of rest, ice, wrap/brace should be fine. If more significant, may need more time, pt, imaging. Check with orthopedic surgeon for good ligamentous exam to check your knee stability and for possible stress fracture of the tibia.
