i have tightness in my leg under the calf when i am walking or exercising i work out 6 days a week with shawn t and i think i may haved pulled or strained my muscle, what should i do ?

You : You very well may have pulled a muscle, or partially tore a tendon.  If you're able to walk (even though it might hurt), it's unlikely you tore a tendon.  Try to rest it, keep it elevated and apply ice (some folks feel better with heat, though), and if you don't see any improvement by tomorrow, i'd see an orthopedic surgeon, just to make sure you haven't torn anything.  Needless to say, until you feel better, it's best to let shawn t work out alone.

Allergies?: This type of situation calls for examination by a doctor as soon as possible to see if this is an allergic reaction to something or some other type of ailment that needs immediate attention.

Biceps tendonitis: The lower end of the biceps muscle attaches on the radial tuberosity which you would feel deep in the front of the elbow.

Need : More information to determine if it follows the same same dermatome. If it dose then you are irritating the that innervates that dermatome. Otherwise you have referred pain

for the past 2 years my absolute lymphs have shown an elevation of 4.1 but everything else has been in normal range. what could this be?

It's just you: If they're normally formed, don't give it another thought. The usual reference range is up to around 3.5, and you know that these are set so that a few percent of healthies will fall outside on either end. I'm betting that's you. Be glad for good health and best wishes.

i work really hard to stay in shape and eat right. now i have a diagnosis of brucellosis. what else can i do so that it doesn't affect my overall health?

Get treatment: Brucellosis is a bacterial infection and can be treated with antibiotics.  Do not try to treat it with exercise or other "natural" methods.  Antibiotics are effective.

Improve dysthymia: You might look at seligman's book learned optimism, to identify ways of changing your thinking that would improve your baseline moods. A psychotherapist can also help you with that. Psychologists, social workers, masters' level nurses, licensed professional counselors and pastoral counselors do this as well as psychiatrists.

i sometimes have sharp pains in my head that come and go. do you think its a reaction to something or something else?

Head pain: The pain is coming from something; however, worrisome pain usually does not come and go but would steadily increase in frequency, duration, and severity. It could be tension headaches. See if massaging with your thumbs the small notches in the bone above your eye close to your nose. Massage the notch for 30 seconds when you get the pain. If it persists or increases seek medical advice.

can you get herpes from sharing underwear with someone else?

Herpes simplex: This would be very uncommon. If one person had active herpetic lesions, took off their underwear and you put them on immediately it is conceivable that it would be communicated in this manner.
