Yes: Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted that will continue to spread if not treated. It is very important that all sexual partners be notified so that they receive the appropriate treatment. In addition to spreading the disease to many people, untreated gonorrhea will lead to other sequele such as chronic infection, pain, bleeding, and ectopic pregnancies.

Gonorrhea: Gonorrhea may not have many symptoms in women, and your "last sexual partner" should be tested as well as any contacts he may have had.  Fortunately, the treatment for gonorrhea is effective, and lasting side effects are rare.

Gonorrhea: The only possible way to get gonorrhea is by sex with an infected partner. If your bf is your only partner, he is (or was) infected and you caught it from him. He needs to be tested and should be treated for gonorrhea even if his test is negative. (The tests miss some infections.) Although almost all men have symptoms (discharge from penis, painful urination), a small percentage do not.

Spontaneously form?: Gonorrhea can't create itself. Gonorrhea hangs around penises, vaginas, and throats, so contact between or among those body parts can spread gonorrhea from one person to another, or from one body part to another. Always be careful when the mouths, vulvas, vaginas, and penises are in play. One cannot catch gonorrhea "directly from" another person who does not have gonorrhea.

Bacterial vaginosis: The fishy odor is usually due to an infection that is a mixture of many different bacteria, the common name is bacterial vaginosis,  also call it bv. The causes are many, bringing bacteria from the rectum to the vagina. It is not classified as a std, but it can be transferred from one partner to the other. Women can develop this with out being sexually active, hence not a true std.

Not 100%: If your sexual partner has Gonorrhea, you should be treated even if you don't have symptoms.  About half the women with throat Gonorrhea have no symptoms.  The treatment is very simple (compared to having the infection).  

 Your local health department may try and find everyone who was exposed to make sure they are treated.  Might as well seek treatment.

i am a gay man, and at a recent routine std testing this week i was diagnosed & treated for gonorrhea, detected in my throat only; anal swab was negative. do i need to tell a recent sexual partner who gave me oral sex? i did not give oral to him.

YES: Make sure he goes to MD and gets tested and treated if positive
