If it is from your cervix, there are other(better) tests like hpv testing which can help clarify the situation.Your report doe snot say you have cancer...Just abnormal cells...

Inflammation: First, where are these smears coming from...pap? Neutrophils are an indicator to the pathologist of acute inflammation and macrophages and lymphocytes are an indication of chronic inflammation. These findings are very non-specific, but likely indicate an infectious etiology present.

Cervicitis: This sounds like a low-level cervicitis. This can be a chronic infection of the cervix. It's not necessarily an std, however, it could be due to a variety of organisms that are causing this information.  Some doctors will recommend 10 day course of Doxycycline daily to help alleviate this inflammation. If i were your doctor i would recommend that.

No. Not needed. : It's good news if the cells where not abnormal. Some inflammatory changes are not worrisome. It is also important to know if the HPV test was done. HPV is a virus which may lead to abnormal cells in time. If not the HPV and cells were both negative, you should have nothing to worry about regarding cervical cancer. Inflammatory changes are usually self limited and may be due to hormonal factors.
