Other causes of testicle pain include trauma, infection, twisting of an appendix of a testicle (a small lump next to a testicle), etc. Since one usually cannot tell if his testicle is twisted, an exam by a clinic or ER doctor is needed.

The reason is that a guy's testicle can die if the testicle twists, thus twisting off the blood supply (called torsion). Other causes of testicle pain include doing sports without a jock strap, getting kicked in the groin, having a testicular cancer or infection, etc... Sometimes, an ultrasound scan is needed.

yes: A small difference in testicle size is normal. A varicocele or prior trauma may result in a larger difference in testicular size.  A mass in a testicle may also make one testicle larger than the other.  If this last scenario is the case, you should visit with your doctor.

No: No, you cannot grow a third testicle.  However, you can develop a benign cyst or a tumor that may mimic a third testicle.  If a "third" testicle is identified, this should be evaluated by your doctor to do appropriate testing to determine if this is a benign condition or possible malignancy.

Many reasons: Torsion (/"twisting") of the testicle or its appendix; local trauma; epididymitis or other infection; other causes of swelling; tumor...Sorry there are a lot of potential causes. If pain intensifies, can indicate an emergency. Best to get it checked out--urgent care or er if severe (also er can usually get ultrasound to evaluate it).

Don't know?: An enlarged testicle could be a serious thing.  How long has it been that way?  Any trauma or recent illness.  How old are you?  Is the testicle tender or does it feel irregular (not smoothe)?  You should see your pcp or a urologist as soon as possible and have it checked out.  You may need an ultrasound and some lab testing after a physical exam of hte testicle.  Please get checked!

Temperature. : A retractile testicle moves closer to the body as a means to control the temperature inside the testis. The action is performed by the cremasteric muscle which surrounds the testic and spermatic cord. In children, the presence of open channel could allow a retractile testis to move up into the abdominal cavity. This should be evaluated by a physician.

Very unusual: Testicles do not split in 2. Maybe have a cyst of epididymis which feels like a second testis, or head of epididymis is separate from testis ; feels like a "split". Double testicles on one or both sides can occur but are extremely rare.
