Vitiligo care: Two things that are important to do for a person with vitiligo:
1. Protect skin from sun exposure.  Areas of vitiligo have no melanin to protect them from damaging sun rays. Also a sunburn can cause new areas of vitiligo to appear.
2. Protect skin from trauma. Just like sunburn, trauma (scratches, etc) can cause vitiligo to appear on normal skin. This is known as koebner phenomenon.

It could include dietary changes, exercise, diagnostic tests, periodic exams, immunizations, etc.  This overlaps with self-care, which includes what you eat, how you rest & exercise, spiritual practices, relationships, engaging in activities you like, etc.  All are needed for healthy life!

It's also a good idea to see a diabetes educator or dietitian.

Do It Yourself: Myofascial release techniques press on muscles, tendons and other soft tissue to release tension and relieve pain. Instead of having someone do this for you, you can do this yourself with balls or foam rollers. At home, at work or in the car. Rig up your seat. Or lay down on the floor. The humble tennis ball can help you heal. Take a deep breath and then sigh with relief. It feels great!

Vaccination: I don't know what kind of problem you are suffering or the cause for the enlarged spleen.  I would certainly consider getting a 2nd opinion.  Aside from that , try to get vaccinated (especially to pneumococci) before you undergo the surgery.  Good luck.

sharp chest pain in center, between breasts and center above breasts. lasts probably 1-3 seconds. woke up and felt this a couple times today. cant pay for doctor. self care advice? should i be worried?

: New chest pain is always worrisome and warrants a visit to a doctor. That said, if it’s not a heart attack, sharp mid-chest pain like you described is most often due to esophageal reflux. That is, acid splashing up into the esophagus from your stomach. Typically worse when lying flat on your back. Avoid alcohol, spicy foods, consider taking Zantac or similar. See a doctor if it continues.

if a tooth/gum cyst or abscess goes away on its own with self care remedies, do i still need to see a dentist about it or take antibotics?

: A dental cyst or abscess does not resolve on its own or with any DIY treatment. The symptoms may subside but the problem remains. In addition, antibiotics do not resolve the issues, they only prolong the inevitable... a visit to your dentist. Make an appointment to be properly cared for.

Get to a podiatrist: The only self care you can do is taking yourself to a foot doctor. You have an infection

i think i might have sprained my wrist but don't think it's so severe that i need to visit a doctor for it.
could you advise on self-care and medication to relief pain?
it's pretty tender (can't swing my hand up or down, nor left or right)

Sprain: Treatment for sprains consists of resting the joint, cold applications, elevation when sitting or supine. Taking an anti-inflammatory medication like ibuprofen and applying a brace or ACE wrapping may also help.
