i'm pregnant, due date nov 2. female 30 years old first pregnancy seeing spots before my eyes.  have always had excellent vision.  do not wear glasses, as i don't need them.

This : This is an urgent matter that needs to be brought to the attention of your ob/gyn  right away. You could be dealing with something called preeclampia. This is a condition in pregnancy that cause high blood pressure and increased protein in the urine. 
The spots you are seeing could be an effect of high blood pressure, which could be a clue to the diagnosis preeclampsia. 
This is a serious condition that needs to be ruled out right away. 
If you have not done so already contact your doctor right away or present yourself to OB triage for a prompt evaluation.

Floaters: Most commonly this is caused by the dissolving of the vitreous humor that fills the back of the eye--this is normal and as this gel dissolves, bits can break off and float around looking like spots floating around.  As this sometimes can proceed a retinal tear or detachment, you need to have your eyes dilated and examined.

Afterimage: The retina can retain images of bright light experienced as an afterimage of white spots.  This is normal. If you have flashes and floaters this can be due to the vitreous gel pulling on your retina.  Gots your eye md.

Floaters: Vitreous floaters can cause that and often do
sparkling or shooting lights is a different story and could be more serious.

These : These may be small floater spots associated with the breaking up of the vitreous gel in the back of your eye.  A dilated eye exam by an ophthalmologist should detect this easily and should be of no consequence.

See an eye doc: Floaters are usually just vitreous jelly liquifying and floating around inside your eye.  However, you need an exam to rule-out more serious causes like a tear in your retina or bleeding in the eye.  If the floaters are new, you should not delay in seeing someone.

sometimes i can see blue and green spots when i close my eyes. is this normal?

Accepted Answer

Yes: Yes.  You are just seeing afterimages after your photoreceptors have been exposed to ambient light.  This is probably worse when the light source is bright.  My patients always tell me they see colored lights after i examine them with bright light sources.  It is harmless and a normal photoreceptor function.  Curiously, the colors of the afterimage are generally the color complement of the light source: ie: if the light source is red, the afterimage is blue, and if the light source is yellow, the afterimage is green and vice versa.  This is because when viewing the bright light source, the frequency of the light source bleaches the photoreceptor pigments responsible for sensing that frequency, leaving only the complementary color pigments in abundance until the photoreceptors can resynthesize more of the bleached pigments.  Hence, the afterimage bears the color of the residual complementary pigments.  Interesting.

i keep seeing bright spots in my vision even when i close my eyes and having headaches almost everyday. what causes this?

Insufficient data: Please repost and include how long this has been going on, how long it lasts each time, and whether you have a diagnosis of migraine headaches.

my daughter has been telling me her eyes keep seeing colored spots and they feel heavy . she says it bothers her to look at her phone and watch t.v. she has headaches sometimes but no while this is happening?

Her age? : Many explanations.  If she has periods, then migraine is a common cause.  Many other things could cause these symptoms.  Please have her doctor take a look and get a proper examination and treatment.
