im seeing floating black specks what causes this?

May be floaters: Floaters are due to imperfections in the clear gel inside the eyeball, and tend to become noticeable as a person ages. Floaters occur in many people, and sometimes are more noticeable if one is looking at a plain blank surface such as a blue sky. Large numbers of floaters, noticeably increasing floaters, flashes of light, changes in vision, etc..., should be evaluated by an md eye doctor.

Get seen now: New onset of "floaters" requires an immediate evaluation by an ophthalmologist to rule out retina problems.

Doctor can evaluate: If a new vision symptom pops up, one should see his primary care doctor and/or an ophthalmologist (eye doctor). Vision is so important, so it is good to have a doctor get the whole story and examine the eyes. It may or may not be something to worry about, but one cannot tell without an evaluation.

It is not good: Discoloration from tobacco use is a problem. Encourage you to quit tobacco use.

Only able to y: Determine the cause by examining you eyes. Pay attention if it moves with eye movement or if there is any flashing lights associated with this. See an ophthalmologist for this.

Worth evaluation : by an ophthalmologist, it can be just floaters in the vitreous inside the globe, but better be checked with examination and measuring of intraocular pressure and checking the back of your eyes, best wishes

hi i have been seeing small black specks in my urine for about a week now, they come and go but it has been relatively consistent. i am wondering what that means. i dont see any foam or blood in my urine either so i just want to know what to expect?

: We can pass various types of sediments in our urine. Some sloughfed off cells in the urinary tract may be the cause. In my experience black specks have most often been fragments of stones in the upper or lower urinary tract.  Even though you have no symptoms, I recommend that you have a clean catch urinalysis,culture,colony count&amp; microscopic exam of sediment for complete evaluation of your urine.

i am seeing little black floating things and i am nearsighted. what are they?

For how long?: Depending on how long you have had floaters and how irritated you are by them will lead you to go see an opthalmologist. Possible er causes: retinal detachment, or retinal loss, or bleeding within the eyes. But those would be an emergency and i don't think you would have time to ask online. Unless you had them but never saw a dr.   For comfort, slightly darker eyeglass lenses may help.
